Prevention And Removal Of Athlete’s Foot

Prevention and removal of athlete's foot

Fungi can grow anywhere on the body, but a common case is athlete’s foot. Just like other parts of the body, the feet need extra care to keep them healthy and free of fungus.  However, most people underestimate the importance of taking care of their feet and do not pay attention to them until a problem has already arisen.

Fungal infections, also known as mycosis, cause a very uncomfortable itching that can cause a lot of irritation to those who have it. In addition to attacking the feet, they also affect the toenails and can actually attack them so severely that they are totally destroyed.

To prevent athlete’s foot, it is very important to take good care of your feet, and most importantly give them proper hygiene every day. Keep in mind that environments such as swimming pools, sports halls and your shoes are the main causes of this problem.

How to prevent athlete’s foot

To prevent foot and toenail fungus, remember to take care of foot hygiene every day, especially when you put on shoes.

  • Be careful when showering in public in sports halls, gyms, swimming pools, campsites and the like, as there are often very many people showering in these showers. In these areas, there is also high humidity, which makes it easier to get infected by athlete’s foot and toenails. It is therefore very important to wear shower shoes and wash your feet well when you get home.
  • Always dry your feet carefully. Moisture and heat are the two factors that increase the risk of fungus on the feet and toenails. Always remember to dry your feet very well after washing them, especially between the toes. It is also recommended that you dry them often if you struggle a lot with  sweating.
  • Moisture: Especially in summer, the skin on the feet tends to suffer. To prevent the skin from becoming dry and cracked, it is very important to apply plenty of moisture every day by using a moisturizing foot cream.
  • Talcum powder: Spreading talcum powder in your shoes and on your feet is great for preventing toenail fungus. It is important to use an antiperspirant talcum powder for those who struggle with sweaty feet.
  • Shoes: To prevent fungus, it is recommended to use open or airy shoes that allow the feet to breathe.
  • Use a separate towel to dry your feet: This is absolutely necessary to keep your feet clean.  You should have a separate towel that is only used for the feet, and once you have used it, you should let it air dry so that the fungus does not spread further.

Treatment of fungus on the feet and toenails

Fungi usually attack the feet and toenails at the same time. Fortunately, there are many natural treatments that can help reduce and get rid of this problem, and will make your feet healthy and sound.

This ingredient has shown very positive results in the treatment of problems such as foot fungus between the toes, blisters, fungus on the toenails, and other infectious infections that affect the feet. Mix together the same amount of water and white vinegar in a bowl and bathe your feet in the mixture for 15 minutes.
