It is very important that you consider the nutritional value of this tasty dish. Because of this and the taste, we recommend repeating this homemade recipe many times.

Each serving of the casserole provides a total of 400 calories,  of which 200 are from fat. The same portion contains 22 g of fat, of which 13 g is saturated fat. It also provides a total of 35 g of carbohydrates.

Among the nutrients it provides, where we have already mentioned some, we get 25% of the daily value of vitamin C, 20% of vitamin A, 10% of iron and 20% of calcium.

A simple recipe for broccoli and ham stew

Ingredients

As we mentioned at the beginning, the  ingredients are very easy to obtain, since you probably already have them in your cupboards at home. To prepare this dish you need:

  • 1 cup raw spaghetti, cut into two-inch strips (80 g)
  • 1 bag of frozen broccoli
  • ¼ cup milk (62 ml)
  • 1 cup ham cooked and diced (200 g)
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce (500 ml)
  • 1 packet cheese sauce (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons rinsed red pepper (60 g)
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese (20 g)

This is what you do

  1. First, preheat the oven to 175 ºC.
  2. Prepare the spaghetti as indicated on the package.
  3. Boil the frozen broccoli and make the cheese sauce according to the instructions.
  4. In a large saucepan, mix boiled broccoli, ham, milk, Alfredo sauce and paprika.
  5. Gently stir in the spaghetti and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Place the pan in the oven and let it cook for 35 minutes. Finally, remove the foil and sprinkle over grated parmesan cheese.

Some advice

If you prefer,  you can skip frozen broccoli and use it fresh.

This dish is very traditional and is usually cooked with spaghetti and chicken or turkey. On this occasion we have made the variation with ham, but if you prefer, you can also use turkey or chicken instead of pork.
